Blog Number Trois

Hello my lovelies...its been ages ....anyway, my video has gone up on youtube (50,000 views already)....I'm just dying reading all the comments, lots of really good ones.... thank you all you clever viewers who actually listen to the song before you comment!!! Love Ya....
However I always wonder who has the time and energy to sit there and watch a video they claim not to like and then still engage in cheap conversation about why they don't like it....if their comments were creative, or based on their opinion of the actual song I wouldn't mind but to ask "why black people can't get their own riffs" is like asking why they can't fry their own chicken.......and also how about The Temptations V Take That uh? and how about Etta James V Amy Whine house....art is there to cause debate I agree so if you want to we can!......also I'm not only black I'm mixed.... I can do what I want! I can anyway...but for you narrow minded people maybe you should listen to the lyrics, it might free you! So how about that!

Anyway.....I'm really excited about the gigs coming up, 4 appearances at Glastonbury, Wireless, Get Loaded.....and of course YOYO next week...expect surprises! Oooh I love it when I get fired up...it makes it so much better lol ;-)

1 Week, 6 Days

It's been 1 week and six days since my last blog and in that time I have done.....
1 GIG - with Mongrel at the Scala in Kings Cross where I got thoroughly annoyed at being bumped of first support for some band called Animal Kingdom (who were quite good actually even though I missed their bit) and even more pissed at being served a fake Ceasar Salad at a resturauant round the corner (look out for my on tour restraunt reviews coming soon)
1 TV BANNER - whats that I hear you ask, well its the adverts by the sponsors of a TV show, mine was for Child Line and Dubplate drama
2 PHOTOSHOOTS - 1 for Mix Mag Magazine (where my mixtape was compilation of the month last month) and 1 for the cover of RWD magazine, both coming soon

I've been to Paris to hang out with superstar photographers (Marc Baptiste) and European pop stars (Patrice) and the supercool Parisian set (of which I am desperate to be part of :-) and I've had some very exciting meetings over lunch and dinner (when you get taken to dinner at the Blue Elephant it must be good!!!) I'll fill you in when I have more info......

Yes Yes I will soon start to add pics and get a mobile app for this blog so i don't have to give you an update in an office memo format....just thought I should say what I've been up to, plus I'm really rubbish at all this online self promo stuff....but I will try to get better, I'd rather do this than get someone to pretend to be me and make up stories that aren't true
for now my faithful followers (of 1 lol) I'm out

MY FIRST BLOG....and its a long one!

So I'm starting my blog! a bit late compared to some people but Ive been so busy putting what I think into songs that I overlooked all this. Also to be honest I was probably a bit scared that it would turn into my online ranting space that I avoided it a bit. So let me get one of my current rants out of the way.
Its not my intention start any kinda online "battle" but I just finished listening to Lily Allens new songs, clever girl that she is, great lyricist and all that but with regards to "Everyones at it"...... speak for yourself cause I'M NOT, its admirable that she admits her involvement but I doubt that making sweeping statements like that will discourage "the kids" from doing "IT". Seems that in trying to say something, she's hasn't said much at all! Good luck with the album anyway.

Glad that's out the way, I probably won't be able to resist every now and then, but I will try really hard to fill it with lots of interesting facts and pictures, updates and vids etc etc etc yadayadayah
Anyway here it is.

I've been on tour with Mongrel recently doing support and my bit in Hit from the Morning Sun and Barcode and I have to say that last night Sheffield was amazing, yeah its Reverend and the Makers' , and Arctic Monkeys' home town, but they didn't know me from Adam. I was a little worried that I would look a bit like a pop tart compared to all that Northern Indie/Dance thing they all seem to be into but they were so responsive. Not to mention that I raised the most money so far for the Viva Palestina Aid Convoy.
My Mum and my Brother are on it driving 2 ambulances through Europe and Northern Africa and hopefully into Gaza!
Lets see what London is sayin on Wednesday night at Scala.....tight wads I bet!

Also really excited I've just been confirmed on the Mr Hudson support for his tour in March, I'm working on new things and songs to add to the set....so keep ya eyes peeled for the dates.

I'm also working on a little pet project documentary. Its about the screwface phenomena. I am really curious to find out why it is so rare that women (people) smile at other women they don't know. I don'y know about you but i don't walk round with my eyes to the ground and If my eyes meet yours, on the street or in the shop, hairdressers, tube, club whatever, Im gonna smile. But so often you just get the blank screwface back! Why......I ain't done anything to you but smile, Im not on the chirps either so why the vexed look? I had to write a song about it, cause It was starting to make me angry. (comments please cause I really want to know!)

So just to round things of a here's a little somink I wanna share with you, its probably cause Im African, but I love it!
